Nigiri sushi bliver ofte pyntet med forskellige slags topping.
I Danmark bruges generelt meget topping på sushi stykkerne. I Japan bruges kun en smule topping som det kan ses her.

Toppings sidder ofte meget løst på sushi stykkerne, derfor skal der ikke så meget til før det falder af.

Soja skålens størrelse spiller en rolle hvis, toppingen skal blive siddende, når du dypper stykkerne i sojasaucen. Ved at bruge en soja skål af rette størrelse, slipper du for at holde sushi stykkerne lidt på strå, når de dyppes.

Her tænker jeg ikke kun på de små sushi ruller. Jeg tænker også på de store nigiri stykker som ses her på billedet.
