Spiser japanerne vandmænd?

Jeg er rejst til Japan ca. hvert andet år i siden 2004.

Jeg har også fået serveret vandmand adskillige gange uden, at vide hvad det var. Det er ikke alle japaner der taler engelsk, og derfor har jeg tit fået serveret en ret uden, at der fulgte en forklaring med.

Mange forstiller sig at en vandmand, er en fedtet og slimet klump. Det passer ganske enkelt ikke.
En frisk vandmand er meget sprød i konsistensen og serveres i tynde strimler. De smager ikke af så meget.

De vandmænd som japanerne spiser, kommer ofte fra Kina. Rent ernæringsmæssigt har vandmænd et højt indhold af proteiner.
